Research note
From a useful demo to evidence of adoption
Keep technical feasibility, observed use, task outcomes and commercial demand on separate evidence lines.
THE SHORT ANSWER
A capability creates a question about use. It does not answer who benefits, returns or pays.
Why it matters
A demonstration establishes that something happened under its recorded conditions. Adoption asks whether people use it in their actual work and continue to do so. Commercial viability adds further questions about the buyer, delivery and cost. Moving between these questions requires new evidence.
Read the evidence
Anthropic’s 15 January 2026 Economic Index report analyzes interactions with Claude from November 2025. It uses model-based classification to describe dimensions of usage, including task complexity and autonomy. That is an observed platform sample and a measurement method, not a census of every worker or proof of demand for an unrelated product.
How to use this resource
Create a proposed adoption card for one narrowly described task. Do not fill the outcome fields before observation.
- Name the user, recurring task and existing way of completing it.
- Separate access, first use, repeat use and accepted task outcomes.
- Record supervision, correction and exceptions alongside the successful outputs.
- Ask what evidence would contradict the claimed benefit.
- Keep willingness to pay and delivery economics as distinct, still-unanswered questions.
Limits and evidence
This resource interprets evidence categories; it reports no customer interviews, revenue or adoption experiment. CooScope follows technical opportunities and application conditions. Buyer research, acquisition, pricing and operating economics are a separate CooSolo research responsibility.
Put it to work.
- Define a task, not a broad market.
- Separate observation from inference.
- Count correction and supervision.
- Do not infer revenue from a working demo.
